FAQ
Q: Why do church in such a contemporary way? What's wrong with the traditional
format?
A: Absolutely nothing is wrong with doing church in a traditional format. However, we live in a generation that finds it quite difficult to connect with God in such a setting. We believe that every culture and generation must take the constant, never-changing message of the Scriptures and seek to communicate it in a way that will be relevant and understandable for the particular age that they live in.
Q: Do you have something for my child?....for my teen?
A: At Mercy Hill we believe that children and teenagers are incredibly important to God. Therefore, we pour our resources and time into creating and providing the most outstanding nursery, children's, and youth ministries. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun place, with trained, skilled, and screened volunteers, so that each young person can learn and experience God's absolute best for them.
Q: What denomination is Mercy Hill?
A: We are a non-denominational church and are not part of any particular denomination. This does not mean that we are against other denominations. In fact, we love to partner and work together with other churches and organizations that share a common belief and direction with us.
Q: What do I wear to services?
A: We are a casual church with a relaxed atmosphere, so come as you are.
Q: What is the church governmental structure and process for making decisions?
A: Many decisions about our church are made by a team of church leaders. Our church leaders will strive to be transparent, wise, and accountable to one another as well as to the entire body of Mercy Hill. All financial matters are overseen by a team of responsible, trusted, knowledgeable, and proven group of gifted and carefully selected individuals. All financial transactions are conducted with the utmost integrity, honesty, and godly wisdom.
Q: Are you going to ask me for money?
A: If you would like to support what God is doing at Mercy Hill there are opportunities for you to do so. Mercy Hill is supported by the voluntary giving of tithes and offerings by church members and supporters who have willfully chosen to do so. Giving should never flow out of compulsion or guilt, but out of a thankful and cheerful heart.
